Welcome to What’s In Your Suitcase?

It’s no secret I love to travel. When I was a little girl, I’d lay on the grass, look up at the sky and watch the planes go by and wonder where they were going. Yep, that travel bug bit when I was just a kid.
Fast forward, and after 34 years of a successful nursing career, I became a travel writer. Married to a retired naval officer, we experienced many cultures and destinations around the globe. But now, instead of reading stories about travel, I get to write them. My journey into writing began in 2014. Since then, I’ve had over 500 published articles in a wide variety of digital and print publications covering food, wine, coffee, culture, luxury travel, history, magnificent destinations, and travel writing success.
I pioneered a private writer’s group, The Travel Writers Café, in order to “pay forward” and share what I’ve learned in my almost six years as a writer. My business partner and I have also launched a series of Mastermind Retreats to guide travel writers to their next level of writing.
Here you will find some of my published articles, blog posts and all kinds of other things to inspire you to pack your bags and then tell other’s what’s in your suitcase.
